Dee Valley/ Vale of Llangollen

I am particularly interested in the relation of where I live in the Vale of Llangollen to its rich history. Above the town sits the castle of Dinas Brân, and the heritage railway memorialises the trains that formerly travelled to the coast. Above the Dee spans the Pontcysyllte Aquaduct, a World heritage site. It bears the Llangollen Canal, now a popular holiday waterway but once planned to connect up the Potteries with Liverpool. In 'Llangollen Rural', layers of history can be revealed.
